The title of this piece is not a statement about my current mental state, although I am trying to tie up some loose ends before the new year. It is however, a rusted door hinge from an old, falling-apart barn.

I decided to revisit the boats on a larger scale. I think this one has a bit more contrast and attention to detail. I don't often do larger versions of smaller studies, so it was interesting to repeat a subject, remebering what worked the last time, and what needed improvement.

I snapped a picture of these old boats on our family's trip to the beach. It just seemed like they were waiting patiently for someone to take them back out on the water. I love all the textures and colors that make up these otherwise simple shapes.

I came across this old truck recently, and knew that it was just begging to be painted. Because of the square surface I painted this on, the truck is squeezed in a bit, although I like the exaggerated effect. I am thinking about doing a larger image of this truck as well.
