I know many of you have seen the first version I did of this picture. It is from a photo of my dad's side of the family sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. (Dad is the little boy in the striped shirt on the left side.) I needed a new painting for The Little Art Gallery in Raleigh, so I decided to revisit this image. It is always interesting repainting an image after a few years. Things that I barely noticed the first time around become important elements, and what seemed so vital to the piece previously gets left out.
