A Cup of Something

Hello friends! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas holiday! I had a few days to relax, but now it is back to a lot of work. The first thing is my show opening next Friday night at Coffee and Crema here in Greenville. Come by to check out some older pieces, some new pieces, listen to some great music, and have a delicious cup of coffee! When I was working on this piece, I was going to make this woman's outfit all black, because I feel like she has some sort of mysterious job, like a spy. With her overcoat and popped collar, and hat at a jaunty angle over one eye, she just stepped out of a film noir movie. Although, if you really are a spy, I guess your clothes shouldn't testify to the fact. I am happy that I decided to let the background color show through. Now she, literally, blends in with her surroundings!

I love this painting and the personality of the woman. Are you selling this one?

A couple of years ago, I did the costume design for a short movie that took place in the 1940's We shot it in black and white. It's called Motel 5150. Film Noir with a sense of humor!
